You are going to fail. You are going to fail at many things, big and small, over and over again, till the day you draw your last breath. You will have your heart broken many times and you’ll break few along the way yourself. You’ll get bumps and bruises, maybe even scar or break a bone. None of these things are inherently bad. These are all signs that you lived a life well lived. What’s the old saying? Nothing ventured, nothing gained?
You see, Failure doesn’t always have to be a bad thing. Much like a tool, a Failure’s net value is determined by what you do with it. If I use a hammer for it’s intended purpose of driving nails into wood, it is a good tool. But if I try to use it to punch staples into a stack of papers, it is worthless. Before I pick up the hammer and use it, its value to me is inherently neutral, neither good nor bad.
What I’m trying to convey to you is Failure, when used correctly, is just another tool at your disposal for solving problems. More precisely, it is a tool for learning. It is of the utmost importance to me that you understand the how to effectively utilize Failure.
Your eldest brother, Day-day
